Inclusion

  1. Confirmed histological diagnosis of cancer (haematological malignancies excluded)
  2. Metachronous disease, with a disease-free interval between primary treatment and manifestation of metastases of at least 6 months
  3. 1 – 3 sites of extracranial metastatic disease only at the time of disease presentation, confined to one or two of the following organs: bone, spine, lymph nodes, liver, lungs, adrenals
  4. Maximum of 2 vertebral metastases
  5. Maximum size of 5cm for any single metastasis
  6. Life expectancy of more than 6 months
  7. WHO Performance Status 0 – 2

Exclusion

  1. Haematological malignancies
  2. Evidence of intracranial disease
  3. For spine metastases, evidence of spinal cord compression or instability
  4. For lung metastases, evidence of severe interstitial lung disease
  5. For liver metastases, poor liver function and Child-Pugh score B
  6. More than 3 sites of metastatic disease, or development of new metastases post treatment of a maximum of 3 lesions
  7. Patients who require irradiation of a whole nodal field
  8. Previous SABR to the same site of metastatic disease
