Support following diagnosis and throughout treatment 

If you are diagnosed with cancer you can be sure that there will be support available for you throughout your treatment and beyond.  You will always be involved in all decisions about your care and will know who to turn to for help and advice.

We work closely with many local and national charities such as Macmillan Cancer Support. These offer further guidance, advice and support, which is often tailored around the specific needs of the individual. 

Details about local charities and the medical, practical and emotional support available can be found by looking on 'In Your Area' on the Macmillan website, or by using the support search function on the NHS website or searching via the cancer care map website (see video below). Macmillan Telephone Buddy service - for weekly emotional support.

Cancer Research UK also have some helpful resources with information about different types of cancer, how to cope with a cancer diagnosis and information about treatment and tests

Cancer Research UK also have an online cancer chat forum  where people are able to chat with others in the cancer community.
