The East of England Cancer Alliance is supported by a range of clinical, professional and patient groups that provide expertise, challenge and advice to help shape the strategic direction of the Alliance and drive improvements in cancer care across the region.

These groups bring together clinicians, healthcare professionals, patients, carers and system partners to support collaboration, share best practice and inform decision-making. They play a key role in helping the Alliance deliver its priorities, reduce variation and inequalities, improve patient outcomes and experience, and support the adoption of innovation. The groups include:

  • Clinical Leadership Group (CLG) – provides strategic clinical leadership and advice to support delivery of regional and national cancer priorities, whilst overseeing the work of the Network Clinical Groups.
  • Network Clinical Groups (NCGs) – provide regional clinical leadership across tumour-site and cross-cutting cancer pathways, bringing together clinicians, operational leaders, patients and partners to drive service improvement and improve outcomes.
  • Primary Care Group (PCG) – provides advice, expertise and leadership from primary care professionals to support cancer improvement and earlier diagnosis.
  • Patient Partnership Group (PPG) – brings together the views, experiences and insights of patients and carers to help shape cancer services and improve the patient experience.
