The Annual East of England Educational Meeting of the Regional Acute Oncology Network took place on Friday, 08 March 2024 with a focus on immunotherapy toxicities
The meeting was Chaired by Dr Saif Ahmad, East of England Clinical Lead for AOS. 
The agenda was designed to support clinicians and nurses to recognise and respond to some of the more complex immunotherapy toxicities that are increasingly being seen with more novel and complex treatments. 
Uptake for the event was phenomenal with no spare seats left in the room.

  • Cardiology: Dr Mun Cheang, Cardio-Oncology Consultant
  • Ophthalmology: Dr Erika Marie Damato, Consultant Medical Ophthalmologist
  • Hepatology: Dr Brent O'Carrigan, Consultant Medical Oncologist
  • Pulmonology: Dr Jurgen Herre, Consultant Physician and Lead Interventional Pulmonologist.
  • Rheumatology: Dr Anshuman Malaviya, Consultant Rheumatologist
 
The day ended with an Expert Panel Discussion to talk about:
  • The complexities of Immunotherapy
  • Improving outcomes in the East of England
  • Potential for development of a Regional Immunotherapy Expert MDT
