Volunteers are wanted for a new behavioural insights research project to improve cancer detection and reduce emergency diagnoses in the region.
From late February 2023 to 10 March 2023, the Behavioural Insights Team are asking for volunteers to take part in an interview or survey related to their cancer diagnosis received in the East of England. This work has been commissioned by the NHS East of England Cancer Alliances and is a new behavioural insights project to improve cancer detection and reduce emergency diagnoses in the region.
We are looking for people living in the East of England who were diagnosed with cancer at a hospital in the region after they attended A&E, and were diagnosed any time between January 2021 and now. Participants must be aged 18 years or above.
We are conducting this research to understand what opportunities there might be to improve the way that cancer is diagnosed within the East of England, particularly for those who have been diagnosed after attending A&E.
We will ask you some questions about your current situation and your cancer diagnosis journey, and ask you to reflect on whether there may have been opportunities for an earlier diagnosis. We understand that reflecting on some of these questions may be difficult, so if there are any questions that you don’t want to answer, you don’t need to answer them.
We would like people to sign up as soon as possible. The study is open until Friday 10 March 2023.
Any interviews will be conducted by an interviewer at the Behavioural Insights Team, a research organisation who have been asked by the East of England Cancer Alliances to conduct this research.
