The prognosis from a CPG1 cancer is very good and your risk of dying of prostate cancer is likely to be much less than your risk of dying of other causes. The risk that the cancer may spread (metastasis) is also very low; metastasis is uncommon. Immediate treatment is considered unlikely to be of much benefit to you.

The National Institute for Health and Care Excellence currently recommends active surveillance as the preferred management option for CPG1 cancer.

This, however, depends on how old you are, your general state of health and your other medical conditions.
Other factors may also need to be considered, such as the amount of cancer in the biopsies or if there are any unusual features from your investigations.
