Working in partnership with the Eastern Clinical Research Network, the Eastern Academic Health Science Network, UCL Academic Health Science Partnership, and academic institutions the East of England Cancer Research Advisory Board provides a focus on the available cancer research opportunities for patients, researchers, clinicians and organisations across the Alliance footprint.

Genetic Revolution

Some types of cancer may be inherited (mainly breast, ovarian, colorectal and prostate cancer). Certain genes may be faulty or be variants that may cause an increased risk of cancer for family members. DNA testing is currently available for some cancers, as research develops widespread testing will become a normal screening test.
